Automation troubleshooting

Diagnose why abandoned cart or checkout recovery notifications are not scheduled, sent, clicked, or attributed.

Automation troubleshooting

Use this guide when abandoned cart or checkout recovery is not sending as expected.

Automation does not schedule

Check:

  • Shopify is connected for the same site.
  • The shopper is an active Pushrr subscriber.
  • The cart or checkout event belongs to the connected Shopify store.
  • The automation workflow is enabled.
  • At least one automation step is enabled.
  • The step delay is between 15 minutes and 7 days.
  • Enabled reminder steps use increasing delays.
  • The cart or checkout event is still inside the scheduling window.

Scheduled send was cancelled

Pushrr can cancel sends when:

  • The order was paid before send time.
  • The shopper moved from cart to checkout before the cart recovery send.
  • The subscriber unsubscribed or became inactive.
  • The workflow was disabled.
  • The step was replaced or archived.
  • The cart or checkout became terminal.

This behavior prevents stale or incorrect recovery notifications.

Notification sent but no recovery

Possible reasons:

  • The shopper ignored the notification.
  • The shopper clicked but did not purchase.
  • The cart changed after the notification was scheduled.
  • The shopper completed purchase through a different journey.
  • Shopify did not send a matching event within the attribution window.

Product image is missing

Recovery notifications can use cart or product data when available. If product image data is missing, the notification should still send with title, body, icon, and destination URL.

Discount or checkout links

Use destination URLs that make sense for the shopper. If you use discount links, test them in Shopify before enabling automation.

Workflow edits

When a workflow is disabled, Pushrr stops active scheduled or in-flight sends for that workflow. When reminder steps are replaced, Pushrr cancels sends tied to archived steps so stale copy is not delivered later.

Debug checklist for support

Send support:

  • Store domain.
  • Workflow name.
  • Automation type.
  • Approximate cart or checkout time.
  • Subscriber email or browser details if known.
  • Expected send time.
  • Whether the shopper paid or unsubscribed.

Abandoned cart and checkout recovery

Configure Pushrr automations that send web push notifications after carts or checkouts are abandoned on Shopify.

Subscribers and statuses

Understand how Pushrr records subscribers, statuses, browser details, location, and unsubscribe behavior.
